Measure Again

The Apps Are Gone, but the Instrument Still Works

The Asensetek Lighting Passport is a fine handheld spectrometer, but it needs an app. Asensetek's own apps, such as Spectrum Genius Essence and Spectrum Genius Mobile, are no longer available on Google Play and App Store, and the cloud service is gone. That has left many working instruments lying unused in drawers.

A New App for Your Old Instrument

Passport Meter connects to your Lighting Passport over Bluetooth, starts the measurements and shows the results directly on your phone. It reads the instrument's own factory calibration, so the results are specific to your instrument, just as with the original apps.

A New App for Your Old Instrument

No Account, No Cloud

There is nothing to sign up for and nothing that can be shut down. The measurements are made and stored on your phone, and you can export them as JSON whenever you want.

Even With a Weak Battery

The Lighting Passport can measure with the charger plugged in, so an old or dead battery does not stop you.

Active Support

Passport Meter is actively developed and supported. You are always welcome to contact us with questions and suggestions.

Works With Your Instrument

Lighting Passport Models

Passport Meter works with the Lighting Passport spectrometers, including Essence, Standard, Pro and Navigator.

For Spectrum Genius Users

Have you used Spectrum Genius Essence (SGE), Spectrum Genius Mobile (SGM), Spectrum Genius Studio (SGS) or Spectrum Genius Agricultural Lighting (SGAL)? Passport Meter works with the same spectrometers and shows your measurements in a modern app. Transmittance measurements, as in SGT, are not yet supported.

Not Affiliated With Asensetek

Asensetek and Lighting Passport are trademarks of their respective owners. Passport Meter is an independent app made by Contechity AB, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Asensetek.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?

Turn on your Lighting Passport, open the app, tap Find instrument on the Home tab and select your instrument. Bluetooth permission is required. Then tap Measure.

What if the instrument is not found?

Only one app can be connected to the instrument at a time. Close other measurement apps, restart the instrument and search again. Also make sure the instrument is charged, or keep the charger plugged in when measuring.

Does the app use my instrument's calibration?

Yes. Each Lighting Passport is calibrated individually. The app reads that calibration from the instrument when it connects and applies it to every measurement. The calibration is kept on the phone, so later connections are faster.

Where are my measurements stored?

On your phone. Export important measurements before uninstalling the app or changing phones.

I reinstalled the app, how do I get full access again?

Go to the Settings tab, select "Get Full Access," then tap the "Restore Purchase" link.
